We’re Focused on What Matters Most Right Now in the Grand Strand

At Junior League of the Grand Strand we live in the moment. To us, that means adjusting our focus according to our community’s most pressing needs. Our work is always evolving, and that keeps us on our toes, striving for progress, and preparing to take on whatever comes next.

Our current community goal of providing nutritious meals to hungry children and creating better educational opportunities can be achieved by working with our partners to raise awareness and money through charity and volunteer events to provide updated technology to low income schools and provide meal delivery to children during school breaks who are enrolled in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and receive free or reduced-cost meals during the school year. So far we have done a community assessment to determine the quantity of children’s needs and have begun communication with local schools and organizations to create a partnership once the Junior League of the Grand Strand is fully incorporated and operational. We are working to quickly become fully operational so that we may begin partnering with other organizations and planning charity and volunteer events to raise awareness and financial support for hungry children and low-income educational institutions.

Our goal is to help Grand Strand women develop civic leadership skills through the work they do, then put those talents to work in the communities that need it. Our current focus of childhood hunger and educational needs gives women opportunities to grow, while positively impacting the communities where they live and work.

We’re Creating Fulfilling Leadership Opportunities Throughout the Grand Strand

Junior League of the Grand Strand offers so much more than local volunteering opportunities! Our League of leaders creates real change by advancing social activism-focused projects that directly benefit the many communities of the Grand Strand. By giving women the tools to lead, educating them about their communities’ needs, and helping them put their unique brand of creativity and skill to work, Junior League of the Grand Strand is making a big impact on the Grand Strand.

We’re Transforming the Grand Strand Communities By Challenging the Status Quo

No matter what we’re currently focusing on, Junior League of the Grand Strand’s work centers around improving our local communities through effective action and leadership. We have identified childhood hunger and educational needs as the most pressing issue in our community right now, and we are helping local women take action to resolve it. So far this year, we have worked to create partnerships in the community, while finalizing our Junior League status. We believe that these impactful actions have the power to bring us closer to our goal of ending children’s hunger and providing better educational opportunities in our community.
